Spring Break 2006 AKA Barry does Bozeman
After a much needed break from school we are back at it in Grand Forks this week. This will be our last block and then it is on to third year clinical rotations.
Last week was awesome. Barry Bennett and I took a ski trip to Bozeman, MT. We got back to Fargo on Wednesday last week after having left the Friday before. Here are the trip highlights:
Day 1 - Saturday
Barry's sister Lindsi drove up from Idaho and skied with us in the afternoon on Saturday and most of Sunday. We were also graced by the presence of Mr. Christopher (Lupeta Loving) Lebsock. He met us at McKenzie River Pizza where he announced his abstinence from beer for Lent. However, he was supposedly going to partake on St. Pat's day. How does that work anyway? To help digest our pizza we risked the chance of getting burnt and hot tubbed. The orthostatic hypotension that ensued was amazing.
Day 2 - Sunday
Lindsi & Chris skied with us for the day. The highlight on the slopes was Leb's intensity and also his yard sale that he threw at 1pm. Again we hit the orthostatic hypotension inducing hot tub.
Day 3 - Monday
Lindsi had to work and Chris had to go see Lupeta, so it was just the die hards this day. The highlights had to have been the Flying Squirrel jumps and my wicked acrobatic debut in the terrain park. The Flying Squirrel is a very advanced acrobatic movement only attempted by excellent skiers. The key to the Flying Squirrel is to snow plow up to the jump, catch an edge going off the jump and gracefully flail through the air. If under the lift the Flying Squirrel is even more appreciated. It was just Barry and I but we couldn't resist the tub and our dizzy heads.
Day 4 - Tuesday
Again it was just Barry and I. Barry attempted to collect my life insurance policy by leading me down the Valley of Death aka High Traverse and the Nose. I escaped with only a sprained thumb. Once down I attempted to urinate in the trees but ran into some difficulty while undressing, sliding down the hill and becoming tangled in my poles. We again ripped up the Flying Squirrel til our toenails bled. Serious gluttons we hit the hot tub and I learned that Barry's stomach skin is sensitive to hot water.
Day 5 - Wednesday
We awoke at 4am CST (the only time to go by) and were on the road by 5. By getting up early we ended up getting home sooner than expected. No one ever wants a trip like this one to end, but it was good to be back home too. After a lonesome week without one another April and I enjoyed the other's company.
After spooning with Chris and spending time with Barry I propose a revision & addition to Dusty's Over/Under Manhood Watch 2006.
Chris won't last two years - 450 days
Barry Bennett - this sleeper will come on strong in the next few years - 720 days

Now thats a blog post! To bad you missed the gun show at the Bozeman Inn. I can always do an encore for you.
Dearest Andrew Wesley, I had nearly given up on you, for it seemed that "Andy's and April's Blog" was going to wither and die like the Seattle Mariner's offense; but then you went out and TOTALLY REDEEMED YOURSELF!! I am especially fond of your colorful wipeout descriptions, and wonder if you could follow in the footsteps of Mitchell Andrew "The Voice of BOLD" Maxwell, the color man for BOLD football and basketball games, by doing a little skiing announcing.
Yes, I agree that the over/under on Lebber should probably be accelerated a bit, but I think I'll have to stick to my original prediction. Back in the days when Lupeta (sp?) was one of those rare women onto whom Cwith had yet to cast his beguilingly magnetic spell, people thought my prediction was far too short.
Finally, if I were a betting man, I'd put the over/under on BBennett at about 17 days, simply because I know Barry to be one of those frugal guys that like to buy plane tickets (such as those to Vegas) a little over two weeks ahead of time.
